Cotton plant lifecycle

Would you recognize it, if you were passing by?

We all wear it. Do we know how its mother plant looks like? It might surprise you, how beautiful this plant is in every stage of its existence...

Summer on the cotton field. The plants are begining to flourish. First blossoms. When the white blossoms mature, they turn into pink. But some species remain white or turn yellowish.

The frangible beauty of the cotton bloom.

...now fully developed.

When the blossom wither, the cotton boll begins to form.

There are seeds slowly ripening in its heart. The seeds are protected by cotton fibers.

During the ripening, the boll changes colour from brown to black.

Once the bool matures, it pops to unveil its treasure.

Fully outstreached boll. The cotton bool is ready to be picked when the last hard section turns soft and fluffy.
